House Bills

 

House Bill 870 - (Re-reported From Committee on Appropriations - March 8, 2010) The Secretary of Education shall establish State standards for business, computer and information technology courses

 

House Bill 101 - (Amended January 25, 2010) - The General Assembly declares it is the purpose of this section to require the department to gather and disseminate curriculum materials for school entities or private, nonpublic, elementary or secondary schools in this Commonwealth related to teaching economics and personal finance curriculum. 

 

House Resolution 592 - (Referred to Committee on Education January 20, 2010) - All public school entities in this Commonwealth will have the ability to enroll students in virtual learning courses through the program to enhance their education and provide courses that would be otherwise unavailable due to funding or personnel restraints. 

 

House Bill 2205 - (Referred to Committee on Education January 19, 2010) -Funds are appropriated by the General Assembly, for the Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts Program as a competitive grant program to expand pre-kindergarten opportunities for eligible students.

 

 

 

 

 

Senate Bills


Senate Bill 1252 - (Referred to Education Committee on February 26, 2010) - It is the goal of the Commonwealth to provide opportunities and incentives for excellent teachers and to retain them in the teaching profession.  To attain this goal, the Commonwealth shall support the efforts of teachers to achieve national certification.

 

Senate Bill 1248 - (Referred to Education Committee on February 26, 2010) - Financial Education - The Department of Education shall develop and disseminate comprehensive financial education materials for school entities or private or nonpublic kindergartens, elementary and secondary schools in this Commonwealth.

 

Senate Resolution 243 - (Referred to Committe on Education February 8, 2010) - This study's legislative was to examine issues of adequacy and equity in public school funding and to determine the basic cost per pupil to provide an education that will permit a student to meet the Commonwealth's academic standards and assessments.

 

Senate Bill 213 (Re-Reported as Amended February 1, 2010) - This act shall be known and may be cited as the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children Act.  It is the purpose of this compact to remove barriers to educational success imposed on children of military families because of frequent moves and deployment of their parents.

 

Senate Bill 766 (Amended January 26, 2010) - The Science Technology Partnership Program is hereby established.  The purpose of the program shall be to improve science education in schools and school districts that are members of science technology partnerships by:  Making scientific or technical equipment available to students; Augmenting the science curriculum; Providing additional professional development opportunities to eduction in the sciences.
